difference between 6600Gt and 6600TD...Performance

hi all

my first post here
i wanted to buy a 6600Gt asus card but its not available .
The only available card is either 6600 TD or a 6600Gt from Leadtek
I want a 256 MB PCI card.

Can u tell me if there is a lot of difference between 6600Gt and 6600TD and should i go in for a TD card if GT is not available...or should i buy leadtek 6600Gt card

If you're a gamer, for under $150 you should be able to find an X1600 XT or 7600 GS.

Both are much better than the 6600 GT.

Budget is also an issue for me....
It shouldn't be very expensive also
I can aford prices close to that of 6600GT's.
So u mean 7600 GS will be a good option.
I will be using an x2 4200 dual processor with this

7600 GS for sure then. You should be able to find one for under $150, and Nvidia's regular geforce drivers are really good in 3dsMax (for non-professional cards).

Since you are planning on using it for 3dsmax you might try turning it into a Quadro. Should give a noticeable improvement. Don’t know if it will work for the 7600 to be honest but worth a try.
