Question DisplayPort connection issues

Hello! I recently bought a PC with a ASUS GTX 1660S with 2 monitors. I wanted to have a second monitor that's why I bought a HDMI to DisplayPort adapter. My problem is the second monitor (which is connected with de adapter) have a little 1 second connection with the GPU and then turn off.
I updated my drivers and see if the adapter was the problem but its seems like it is a software problem. Please help

Looks like you only ever get the monitor splash screen/logo, no 'display' received.

Did you buy an "HDMI to DisplayPort" or "DisplayPort to HDMI"?
You need SOURCE to DISPLAY CONNECTION..... They're rarely (if ever) bi-directional.

I have an HDMI to DisplayPort, because my GPU doesn't have 2 hdmi connectors
