[SOLVED] Does this SSD work on Desktops?

Solution
That M2 slot cames in 3 flavors so you need to make sure whatever your's supports is matched by the drive.

M2' slots can be
- NVME only (which is PCIe based),
- SATA only (Same exact Sata as normal drives),
- or both (PCIe and Sata use different pins in the slot by design).

M2 drives come in NVME or SATA but the NVME versions come in PCIe3 or 4 as well as using 2 or 4 lanes.
You'll see this in the specs as Gen3x2, Gen3x4, Gen4x4 ... where Gen corresponds to the PCIe generation 3 or 4. I have not seen a Gen4x2 drive yet. Gen4 is twice as fast as Gen3 and these newer drives can hit 5GB/s in sequential reads, 5000MB/s WOW!, but you need a Gen4 motherboard to match and Currently that is only AMD's 500 series Chipsets with a...

not every desktop motherboard does, pretty much all NEW boards will have one though.
