Domain name is not available can not log on

If yes, and you are not on a network domain, go to control panel, system, computer name, change. Switch from domain to workgroup, give it any name unless you have a home network. Use the home network name.
 
No problem....Ok, here's the main login. Make sure the 3rd box is set to local computer(this computer), not the domain name.


The username will be administrator

And assuming you didn't password protect the local admin account, there is no password.

Yup, I get the other screen also the message I'm getting is "the system cannot log you on now because the domain name is not available"
 
Then you shouldn't be getting that error message. You don't have the domain login option, and you are using the fast switch screen (which isn't an option on a domain).

Was the computer ever on a domain?
