don't know your particular example, but try hitting F1, F2, F10, Del and SpaceBar (individually, several times during bootup) -- those are the only ones I ever encountered, one should work. F2 and Del are the most common in my experience, but who knows...
If they don't work -- simply try other keys on the keyboard
Don't press them for too long after bootup, or otherwise you may triger some Windows keys (F8, F5 etc).

on my del it's del i think.... i have also had a computer where it is f4. i can get into the bios but do u know how to get into the CMOS?

Usually if I can't figure out how to get into bios, I purposely screw something up, like installing a conficting card or reducing memory, so that I get a REQUEST from Bios to eter setup!
By the way, I have a couple of those E-Machines, and CPU detection is automatic only. No chance of overclocking, can't find different bios. Good luck!

CMOS = BIOS in most common usage. CMOS is a technology, BIOS is the chip on the PC that uses that technology.

Actually BIOS is the software, CMOS is the material using to store the settings.. but I digress.
Good trick to get into BIOS on almost any motherboard if you don't know the key... hold down a key while booting up. Most will give a stuck key error and give you option of going into BIOS. Second option if that doesn't work is to shutdown, pull floppy cable off and reboot. One of those two should get you option of going in to bios on 90%+ of systems out there I would think.
