[citation][nom]gnesterenko[/nom]...but the PS3 will be great as a central entertainment source for my TV (stream media from PC, play blue rays, play games)[/citation]
I have a "once great" home theater system which is stuck in a time bubble ever since I've been using my HTPC as the nucleus of entertainment, and there are more of me who don't look at the PCs as just computers but rather as a comprehensive entertainment centre! EA can suck my noodle for what I care, because if they won't give me what I want another publisher will.

I hope Valve buys out Crytek but allows it to still function as its own company under the Valve name. That would make for some great PC games.

It's such a slap in the face to PC gamers that the company that could be doing the most to support it, isn't. The only reason Microsoft really even bothers with PC for gaming anymore is to continue DirectX.

I really hope Sony crushes their half-a$$ed console. Serves them right.

I guess I will be spending my 50 bucks on the new Stalker game instead.
Just give my money to the Russians instead, they seem to care about the PC more anyway!!

this is horrible 🙁 I was looking forward to buying this, and I dont want to buy a xbox or ps3...
I hope someone starts a petition

[citation][nom]sacre[/nom]Eh, what do you expect? With statistics clearly showing there are more PC games pirated over Xbox/Ps3 (ps3 is nearly impossible) They would be losing money or making minimal amounts selling to the PC. Halarious how it works, a lot of PC gamers pirate, then complain later that they're not making games for the PC as much as they used too. Sadly, we all pay for those who sit and pirate, then spend the day defending themselves saying "It isn't because of us that they're losing sales" or even the whole "We should get it for free" BS.[/citation]

+1 Always love to see people on here who can see the "bigger picture"

Its a business. They can choose to set up shop in the mall with amazing security or the one with rampant theft and drivebys. They don't set up shop in the dangerous location, and then the very criminals who ran them off can't figure out why, and then act as if they have a god given right to that store.

It's disgusting.

Of course this will get the response 'what's really disgusting is the overpriced garbage they sell. Let me cut you off right now and say this:

1) Play old games. Steam sells them for next to nothing and they are amazing. I just bought Freedom Force, X-Com (whole series), and Tropico 3 for 20$. I got Stalker for 5. Crysis sold at what, 15$?

2) Play freeware. There is a ton of amazing freeware out there. Dwarf Fortress and Battle for Wesnoth come to mind.

If you can't afford the latest and greatest then don't act like that's the only good thing out there. That's BS and just illustrates how myopic your view of the gaming world is. (also honestly the old and cheap ones are often as good if not better than the new ones...)

(btw I am not accusing everyone here at Tom's of piracy, those that do know who they are and hopefully one day they will see the damage they are doing to their community.)

consoles suck, the technology in them is outdated. plus!!!1111 most of the games i play are mmorpg, rpg, or rts. though it is kinda sad that we don't get a pc version

The pirated Xbox games are as much as the pc games so I really do not get the point. And if the companies will keep going like this I do not know why would ATI and Nvidia bother themselves by developing new hardcore gaming cards. I think they have to think seriously about this issue.
The future has never looked darker for PC gamers!

I'll take the console and not really care if you call me a "real" gamer or not. The only game worth playing on a PC is RTS and we're just a generation away from having keyboard and mouse support standard on all consoles so at that point I won't see any reason to own a gaming PC.

Really, it's supply and demand. Why should EA waste their time making PC versions of games when there is a potential for exponentially more sales on the console? It's just math. If I owned a business I would do the exact same thing and it would be a smart move. We wouldn't even be talking about this is consoles had keyboard and mouse support. It would just be a foregone conclusion.

First NFS Undercover, then SHIFT and now this.
F*(K you EA... F@*K you, a lot of us are both PC gamers and 360 gamers, I won't be buying for either version from them in the near future and hopefully they'll get the picture from the rest of us.

EA hates people. Its because of contracts that keeps them alive. They killed Westwood(I will not forgive that). They screw over pc people. They just care about making a quick buck.

I am a computer programmer and an avid gamer and I convert videos. So guess what? My money goes into my computer because that what I use all the time. I wont get a game system.

If The Sims becomes console only too, my wife will be SOL. I'm not buying anybody's console just for that. As faithful as she's been in buying so many Sims games over the years, that would be a huge slap in the face. Maybe I should be preemptive and begin weaning her off EA now, just in case. She's already got The Sims 3 Collectors Edition, so she'll be ok for a while. EA, you're about to lose a customer who has given you several hundred dollars, and we never even played Dead Space. Hope you're happy with yourselves.

[citation][nom]Hilarion[/nom]The problem with this statement is that there is no "next generation of hot gaming platforms" out there. The PC is still king for "real" gaming.[/citation]

I agree. I also believe that gaming pushes the majority of the need for more powerful processors. PC's have been king for around 17 years now. However, with all the consoles out there developers will go where the dough is. There aren't enough Carmack's, Garriott's and Meier's out there to compete with the people who do this only for the money. Development is going more toward consoles and will continue to do so for some time, especially since consoles are basically leeching off the advancements spearheaded by the PC world.

Game was good but not Bioshock good, not Resident thriller good, but decent so its ok not to have this port but I have a feeling they will eventually release a PC port like they always do, just a bit late.

It stinks that EA is doing this, but I've always been a life long gamer on PC and consoles, and some of my recent run-ins with buggy-to-hell PC gaming has made me play games more and more on my Xbox. Fallout 3 was wonderful, but at times damn-near-unplayable on my PC. Downloaded all the patches, did all the various tricks I found online to make it play, still crashed every 15 minutes or so. On my Xbox I could play it 4 hours straight, no problem. That really put me off to PC gaming.
