I have a question before buying an External USB Hard Drive, that editing a file (i.e Document, Image etc) directly from USB connected External Hard Drive does creates any error or corrupt files.

Assuming no hardware problems, no.
Just the same as an internal drive, just a bit slower.

Attach the dedicated- for-backups external USB HDD and backup data from both internal and external drives.
