it works fine but everytime i open it (which is often) a bubble pops up and says TASKMGR.EXE-20256C55.pf is corrupt. it runs fione except in the processes tab the owner of the process is blank. hwo can i fix this, i tried to delete that fiel but it said unreadable or corrupt and i tried to rename btu same error.

it tells me to run chkdsk, but that hasnt worked for me, i run it (with perameter /f) but on the first of five passes, it tells me file segment 4404 and 4425 are unreadable and it tries to fix them but it can, so its always aborted. i know my hdd is failing, but how can i fix this?

You're going to have to try to recover the file(s) from the bad area(s) of the hard drive. I heard SpinRite is a very good program for doing just that.

Now, does chkdsk abort itself or do you abort it? If you're aborting it... don't. If it's aborting itself, you'll have to use another program like SpinRite.

no i do not abort, im not THAT stupid...*laughs*
it gets to pass three of five and says cannot recover exiting checkdisk now.

what is spinrite? is it free? if not is there a free program that wroks just as good?

P.S. im bugme, my account got messed up tho.
