Question Ethernet not connecting to my PC ?

i dont know if i'm in the right place or not but can anyone help me.
I just installed a new Windows 11 and I don't seem to be able to connect an ethernet cable to my PC?

Use a second computer and go to the manufactures webpage for your motherboard. Find your motherboard, quickest way it to google the make and model, once on the motherboard webpage look for support. under support download the chipset, network, and audio drivers for windows 11 and install them.

First thought, since this is a new OS install, did you install the chipset and peripheral drivers from the motherboard ?
Have you checked the Windows device manager for any devices with question marks ?

i tried doing that but when i was installing lan drivers it says "the realtek network controller was not found if deep sleep mode is enabled please plug the cable" how do i fix that?

i just installed the chipset drivers but where are the peripheral drivers in my motherboard website

Before you can install the LAN driver, you have to install the chipset drivers.

Go back to the Windows device manager. Is there any devices with question marks? Does the realtek network adapter show up under "network adapters" ?

What is the other end of the ethernet cable you are connecting your PC to plugged into ?

If there are no lights on the ethernet adapter, then either the other end of the cable is not plugged into a valid ethernet device OR the hardware on the motherboard is bad. There should be LEDs on the board without any drivers. Those LEDs are hardware ONLY. No drivers required for the LEDs.

and under network adapters i see a realtek RTL8188EU wireless LAN 802.11 usb 2.0 network adapter

What is the model of the "extender" ? What does the status LEDs on the extender say ?

the extender model is RE450 and the LEDs say 2.4ghz, 5ghz and power

The RE450 should allow an ethernet connection. BUT if the LEDs on the motherboard are not lit, then there is something wrong at the hardware level.
If it were me, I would carry the PC and monitor to your primary router and connect it with a brand new, factory made ethernet cable. If you don't get LEDs around the ethernet cable, then your motherboard has a hardware problem.

I don't understand. You are trying to connect with an ethernet cable but have the driver for a wireless adapter. Maybe that's your problem. You installed the driver for a realtek wireless usb adapter but you don't have that so Windows says it can't find it.

There might be an option in the BIOS to enable/disable the Ethernet chipset. If it's disabled, Windows won't load any drivers and you probably won't see any green or yellow LEDs on the RJ45 Ethernet mobo port when it's connected to a router or network switch.
