So I just ordered my new AMD based X570 PC. I am concerned that I may have made a mistake with my RAM kit selection and considering ordering an alternative. Specifically this RAM kit:

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/XJ...4-x-8-gb-ddr4-3600-memory-f4-3600c16q-32gtznc

The rest of the build:
  • Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite Motherboard
  • Ryzen 3600X
  • GSKILL Trident Z Neo (4x8GB @ 3600)
  • Gigabyte RTX 2070 Windforce
  • Corsair RM850X
  • NZXT H510
I realize that X570 only supports dual channel RAM and the one I have selected is quad channel. However, GSKILL's advertising for the Trident Neo dual and quad channel kits say that they are optimized for AMD X570. I can find precious little information regarding the compatibility issues of the quad channel Neo kits and their performance. AMD's marketing for the Neo kits on the link above.

It is worth noting that I could not find any quad channel kits on Gigabytes QVL list.

I probably will not be overclocking the RAM at this point.

I would like to know if anybody has any experience with the Trident Z Neo quad channel kits on Ryzen based X570 platforms, and their performance results. Specifically; will the kits run at their full speed of 3600mhz? or would I be better off buying 2 dual channel kits (I want all four slots populated).

Please do not answer with one liners such as; "X570 only supports dual channel".

Thanks in advance for your help!

are you sure that its a quad channel kit? i dont think theres a quad channel Neo (x399) kit available yet.
if Quad chanel you mean that you use 4 sticks of ram, its totally fine. Its still dual channel tho.

just set the XMP profile properly and you should be able to run at your desired 3600mhz speed.

If you have a look at the link in my post above, the sellers product description clearly states that it is 'quad channel'.

GSkill's state that it is Dual/Quad channel - https://www.gskill.com/specification/165/326/1562840141/F4-3600C16Q-32GTZNC-Specification

they mean that its a kit of 4, not really a quad channel and it should be fine but looking at the QVL list for your motherboard that particular model doesnt show up there so it could be a hit or miss.

i think the 3600 can handle 4 dimm slots populated some cpu's dont like 4 dimms populated especially memory being that fast.
