my bro has

amd athlon x2 5200
asus m2n68 sumthing mobo with an onboard nvidia geforce 8400 gs (512 mb)
2gb ram
300W psu



when i installed farcry2 on mine and his pc....................
it worked on his but didnt on mine !!!!!!!!

after u open the game frm farcry2.exe , i get the farcry2 logo or image (whatever u may call it) [with FarCry2 on it] that d game begins with.......................but ltr that logo blinks few tyms n it closes !!!!!!!
but in my bro's pc the logo doesnt blink n the game starts all fine after that.................i tried reinstalling !!!!!!!!

You have integrated graphics. Which will not run that game. You will need a graphics card to play that game. The 8400gs is a separate graphics card. The 8400gs plays that game at low settings.

if i remember correctly, farcry2 installer will check if your pc meets the minimum requirements for the game. the hd4200 is faster than the 8400gs.

what operating system are you on? if you're on vista/win7, try running the benchmark first. go to your game's list > right click on farcry 2 launcher > then choose benchmark. try to run the benchmark.

if it still fails, the manual states:

*Supported Video Cards at Time of Release
ATI® RADEON® 1650-1950/HD 2000/3000/4000 series
NVIDIA GeForce® 6800/7/8/9 series
8800M and 8700M laptop cards running on drivers 175.19 and older
Other laptop versions of the cards listed above may work but are NOT supported.
These chipsets are the only ones that will run this game. For the most up-to-date minimum
requirement listings, please visit the FAQ for this game on our support website at:

i dont know how ubisoft categorizes gpu's but you might be on the safe side or securom might be effing you up.

no its an onboard card...................the mobo specifies its an integrated card 8400gs

most ridiculous part..................benchmark runs just fine..................giving avg fps 11.56 !!!!!!!!!!
but game doesnt !!!!!!!!

That is not playable framerate.so the game donot start.since u willnot have fun playing it.

at low settings.................i get abt 25 to 30 fps.................
still the same !!!!!!!!!!!!!

but hows it possibly possible that the game benchmark runs fine showing all game aspects without lag or any problem but the game just doesnt run ????

have you updated your video drivers?

its working now...............it was a resolution prob..............dunno why sumthin was making .xml prof resol to 960x600...............i opened then chnged it to 1024x768.........
its in my doc->my games->far cry 2 !!!!!!!!!!!
prob solved !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
