Motherboard: ASUS B660M Plus WiFi D4
CPU: i5-12400F
GPU: Manli RTX 3070 Ti
RAM 32GB Trident Z 4000Mhz
PSU: Cooler Master 750W Bronze
SSD: 1GB
Case: Irid 504 ARGB
OS: Windows 11

I thought about I will disable fast boot, but then games were worse than before. Like graphics was worse, and there was more screen tearing. I felt the enemy is much faster than me. However when I use Fast Boot on it didnt seem like that. The default is on. But why is that, or how is it possible?

Fast Boot = On
Secure Boot = On
CSM = Disabled
FTPM = On
X.M.P = On

What BIOS version are you on for your motherboard?

coolermaster 750W bronze
Coolermaster is the brand of the unit while 750W is the advertised wattage of the PSU. Bronze is the 80+ efficiency rating for the unit. What is the model of the unit and how old is the PSU?

Use DDU to remove all GPU drivers(intel, AMD and Nvidia) in Safe Mode, then manually install the latest GPU driver sourced from Nvidia's support site in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.

I have an ASUS B660M plus wifi d4 motherboard, rtx 3070ti (manli), coolermaster 750W bronze, i5 12400f, 32 gb trident Z 4000Mhz, 1gb ssd, case irid 504 argb, windows 11. Doesn't make much sense to me. Something else is going on. Fast boot basically allows the motherboard to keep powering some components to keep stuff in memory after shutdown, so Windows doesn't have to load everything from scratch when booting (so faster boot, like the name says). It's basically telling the computer to go into deep hibernation instead of completely shutdown. Disabling it should not affect anything else than boot time and with modern SSDs, the difference is unnoticeable anyway. And it certainly doesn't cause screen tearing and faster enemies.

Lutfij might be right: looks like a driver issue. Maybe it doesn't load correctly when you do a clean shutdown? If you enable fast boot, shutdown your computer, power off the power supply and then turn everything on again do you have the same issue?

Thank you for your answer! Is it hoe should I use it? Becuase if yes, then why is it worse if I disable fast boot? Btw I have to disbale fast startup and hibernation because games keep changed when these was on.

I use the newest bios 3601.

Model name: MPE-7051-ACABW

I already tried to use ddu more times with different drivers.

Yes, it doesn't make any sense to me either. To find out I tried what you advised. I found out first game startup feels better and slower, but if I restart the game then it will be a faster and for me game will be worse. Then I realized in BIOS if I enable fast boot then next startup "AC power loss will be a fast boot" (it's a settings for fast boot in BIOS) again. So maybe that's the problem. But it felt so much better, smoother, when I use it on, probably because first game startup.

I already had some issues with hibernation and windows fast startup. Games kept change while I don't disable these settings. So should I use it disabled?

Btw new nvidia driver 572.16 is bad? I read a lot of people have issues with it. I didn't try it, just want to make sure.

What games are you playing? Are they old games that are tied to the frame rate like Fallout 4? If it's the case then the problem could be the exact opposite: your computer is working better when fast boot is disabled so you get more fps so the games run faster... and are unplayable because they are not designed to be played at so high fps. Did you monitor the frame rate to compare what you get in both situations?

I really don't understand what you wrote about the BIOS settings and the AC power loss option. Can you rephrase it? If some BIOS settings change between boots then you might have a power issue and you should try to replace the CMOS battery.

About the 572.16 driver, a lot of people reported having problems with it and I'm one of them. I had to roll back to the previous version. It was fine most of the time but made my PC crashing when enabling frame gen in a couple of games. But a lot of people also say they are fine so I guess it depends on your system and the games you play.

Im playing rocket league, world of tanks, battlefield etc. My pc easily reaches 240fps becuase my monitor refresh rate is 240Hz. Frametime is correct everything is fine. But now I disable fast boot and now it's again feels different than on enabled. Im 100% sure it's different. With fast boot off it feels the graphics is worse and in rocket league ball is not as smooth as with fast boot enabled. It shows in my rank too. But the input lag is lower with fast boot off. I can tell because the car turning is much faster. Im confused and really don't know which is better. Btw fast boot is on by default.

So, if I enable fast boot in my BIOS, then pc next clean startup will be a fast boot also. Because there's a settings called next boot or something like that. I can change if I wanna fast boot my pc after power loss or I wanna a clean startup. That's all.

I have issues with it too. That's why I asked. On my rig games were worse. I rollback to 566.36.

Btw now I change secure boot from other os to windows UEFI and now it changed again like what the hell?
