For the past few days now I've been getting a 'PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR' when I try to use certain websites such as Reddit or Tumblr. The problem occurs on both my PC and mobile when using Firefox. I can access the websites just fine using other browsers.

I've tried the solutions listed here: https://appuals.com/pr-end-of-file-error/

But none of them have worked. I've also tried renaming the 'cert9.db' file in my profile folder, but that hasn't worked either. Nor has clearing cookies and site data.

Is your system time, including time zone, correct?

What extensions, if any, are you using with FF that you aren't using with other browsers?

If you run FF in a private window, does the problem stop?
System time is correct.

My extensions are Reddit enhancement suite, Translate web pages, Tiled tab groups, search by image and uBlock Origin. But the problem still occurs in troubleshoot mode.

The problem also still happens in private windows.

Do you know what DNS your router uses? I assume your PC is using the router for its DNS. Is that correct?

If using the ISP's DNS, try changing to Google's DNS adderesses, 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
Changed the DNS to Google's 8.8.8.8 and that seems to be working so far.

Any idea what caused this, or how I can stop it happening again?

Is there a way to fix it, so I don't have to use Googles DNS? Or is it just a case of waiting 'till it fixes itself?
For you, not really. It is an ISP issue as far as I know. Why the aversion to using Google? You can use Cloudflare if you prefer (1.1.1.1) and get the same results (in regards to your issue).

I haven't used my ISPs' DNS servers for many years.
