Im currently using a p3 1.0 ghz, the games i play run fine now but its showing its age for sure, i can wait until socket 939 comes out so it gives me more upgrade options down the road. When is socket 939 supposed to be released?

I wouldn't ruin such a nice system with a VIA chipset board when the nForce3 250 was just released. In case you didn't know, that's their second A64/A64FX chipset series, the most feature-packed ever produced, and from a more reliable company. Boards should hit the market very quickly on this one. You've waited this long, no point in jumping the gun only to wish you hadn't later.

Though I don't think VIA K8T800 is a terrible chipset, I agree with you

I would strongly suggest you to buy two 60GB or three 40GB instead of a single 120GB HDD.

Having multiple smaller HDDs in a RAID array make a lot of sense, depending on what you plan to do with computer, a RAID-0 Stripping array will boost the file transfer speed and RAID-1 Mirroring will increase the reliability of your file storage system.

Considering that HDDs are the most obvious bottleneck in today's computers, a RAID-0 Array will most likely bring you the most noticeable performance increase, files will be loaded in memory much faster, nearly halving the time required to load a file into the system memory.

I personally use two 40GB in a RAID-0 array for my OS & games and an other 40GB for long term media file storage.

Keep in mind that a RAID-0 array is more likely to fail than a single HDD, it's all about risk management.

Great case choice.

I agree with Crash, nice system, wait for a NF3-250 mobo though.
