I am looking for an amazing gaming desktop to run MW3 and Black op's 2 on high (preferably ultra) on a consistent and smooth FPS. I am new to building computers this will be my first ever computer and I want it to last me for at least 4 years.

Approximate Purchase Date: Christmas Day.

Budget Range: $700 - 1000

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Sole Purpose: MW3 and BO2, 60+ FPS on ultra/max settings (high settings if ultra/max is not possible with my budget), I would like my minimum FPS to be in the 45-60 range.

I have looked at Alienware's x51 but I don't think that will be able to handle MW3 or Black op's 2 on high or even ultra

I assempled this build on the iBuyPower Website What can I fix to save money and will I be able to play black op's and mw3 on ultra or max? and how much fps should I get with this build if anyone has a better build for a lower price please let me know and also will my build overheat? I'm very worried about that.

Parts Not Required: Mouse, Keyboard, Speakers

Country: USA

Overclocking: If necessary and not too much - I do not wish for my computer to overheat and die

Additional Comments: Please let me know if you have any questions

I am eager to read through your builds, advice, suggestions and guidelines. Thank you for your valued time!

Solution
never consider alienware.. ever..
I put together a price up for the components in their maxxed out $7,000pc.. it came out at $2600 to build it yourself.

I would suggest the i5-3570k meaning its really easy to overclock.. the watercooling would almost be put to waste with the regular i5-3570..

8gb ram, fine for games..

gtx 650 will pull through, if you can shoot higher, then do so.. something like a gtx 660 will be nearly twice as powerfull..

consider an ssd for your favorite games + OS.. the OCZ Agility 3 120gb is cheap, high transfer speeds, and overall good value for performance..

and i dont have those games personally and i dont have a setup like yours but i can guess you will get greater than 60 fps with those games
well you have a couple options .. but i would say a 7870 would be a good match or a 660 ti .. there about in that range saying you plan to play at 1080p .. if its a lower resolution then that you could possibly go with a less powerful card.. but i would say that is your starting point .. if your going for a higher end card get the 7970 GHZ edition ..

keep in mind that around dec/jan time frame amd will come out with the newer graphic cards.. so if you hold out a little longer you might be able to get a better deal and make sure to take advantage of cyber monday and black friday if possible. to get the good deals.

Hey guys thanks for the help after some research i've made some changes and i'm pretty sure this would be a much better buy

CPU Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core $215.99
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-H77-DS3H ATX LGA1155 $95.23
Memory Corsair XMS3 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1333 $36.98
Storage Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM $74.99
Video Card Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 2GB $234.99
Sound Card StarTech PCISOUND5CH $15.00
Power Supply XFX 550W ATX12V / EPS12V $53.99
Optical Drive LG GH24NS90 DVD/CD Writer $17.99
Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (64-bit) $89.99
NZXT Guardian Black SECC Steel Chassis ATX Mid Tower Case $76.00

Grand total of $911.15 just under my limit

So what do you guys think? could you suggest something else or do I have a pretty solid build?

Might as well get the cheapest Ivy-Bridge i5, then.

Get DDR3-1600 - it isn't any more expensive.

I'd suggest the more powerful GTX 660 or HD 7870 if you're budgeting $230 for a video card. My pick would be the GTX.

No reason to get a $15 sound card - integrated sound is fine. The only way you'll be able to tell a difference is if you buy a $50+ sound card.
