First Reactivation

Just did some serious upgrading, and had to reactivate WinXP Pro, did it by telephone, took about 10Min, other than the inconvenience, it wasn't a big deal at all, painless actually.

Just curious. Do you have the OEM or the retail version?
Just wondering because I might have to do the same thing soon.

Edit: Or does it even matter?

what a waste of money having people at the phones for this activation goof, but I guess Bill got enough $ to waste so no big deal

well actually its a good security feature.

SO GOOD THAT I HAVE TO BLOODY WELL RING UP EVERY TIME I RE-INSTALL

i didn't realise it had a 5 TIMES activation limit.
and i unwitingly activated it every time i re-installed it (even before i had loaded any programs onto it or anything.

Arrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhh its just a bit more annoying than pressing a button and the NUMBER IS HUGE!!!

OEM version, they didn't even ask me any questions, I told the guy I'd done some hardware upgrading, he said it didn't matter he didn't even need that information, and gave me the key to reactivate it.
