First time solo builder wanting feedback

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Florida, US

PARTS PREFERENCES: Planning AMD build

OVERCLOCKING: Maybe in the future
SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Maybe in the future

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1080 (1080p, HDMI, 5ms, 24"w)

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I built a system with a friend(mostly him) but am doing this one solo. I think this build should be good just want to see if I have missed anything, or just got confused with all the info. Thanks in advance

MOBO: Asus M4A79XTD EVO
GPU: Radeon 5770 1GB
RAM: G.SKill Ripjaws 4GB(2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz
PSU: Antec TP 650w True Power ATX PSU
HDD: Seagate 7200.12 1TB or Samsung F3 1TB
Case: Antec 900
Plus a DVD RW & Win7 64bit

What are some thoughts on this system? Will this system be flexible for future upgrading (like SSD or xfire on the 5770)? Will I need any extra cooling?

the antec tp is series is some of their better models its perfectly fine and i believe all 890 boards have sata 6gb and most have usb 3.0

the gigabyte is a good choice but the layout is a bit tight you could look into the asus 890

diamond is ok a bit lacking on the customer support but they not half bad

sapphire is the biggest ati brand also low on support side
xfx have the doulbe lifetime warranty
asus tends to have ok support but their quality seems to be a bit better
msi covers high level overclocking of their cards which is nice if you gave it a bit too much voltage

Well, essentially, both. Antec is a good company, but I'd only want the best for my rig. I'd get a 700W or at the most, 750W. You don't want a PSU that's going to be working, for example, at 90% of it's capacity all the time. It'll burn out before 2011.

ram and board and hdd max 60 watts
fans 40 watts
thats 337 watts at absolute maximum but whoever runs their pc 100% all the time so average use lets say running 75% while gaming

250 odd watts average use

so while gaming the 650 antec will be only running at 33% capacity 😱

I think the only question I have left is will I need to get any extra cooling, heatsink or anything like that? If so any suggestions?

if you gonna overclock right away the cooler master hyper 212+ is a good choice but if you not gonna overclock right away you can use the standard cooler for the time being

if you r gonna OC you might want 2 go liquid
keep in mind:
1)liquid is cool RELLY COOL and often gets great load temps
2)liquid coolant MUST be replaced at least once a year depending on the coolant
3)YOU HAVE a chance of leaks and if you don't have a window on your case it can go unnotised for days until a video card ect... gets burt to a krisp

after all water and eletricity DON'T MIX!!!!
but keep in mind if you got a case window you can see a leak as soon as it happens therby saving your video card

Unless you're going nuts on the OC, which is doessn't sound like you are, I wouldn't bother with the hassle of water cooling tbh.

I bought the MSI version of the reference design on the 5770 like the XFX one you linked. The fan was unbearable. I returned it for this sapphire version:

At 50% fan speed its not even audible in the antec 900 I'm using.
That and its 2 inches shorter (less long) than the reference design.
