So i am planning on building my pc for music production. Ive done research the past 12 hours teaching myself about compatibility and how to put everything together. So yeah... heres my build.
-Intel Core i7 6700k cpu
-MSI ATX Z370 A-Pro mobo
-Corsair Vengeance LPX 16gb ram ddr4 2133 mhz (8x2)
-MSI GeForce gt 710 1GB gpu
-Kingston A400 SSD 480gb
-WD Blue 2tb HDD 5400rpm sata 6
-Corsair CX series 650w psu
-Thermaltake gravity i2 cpu cooler
-Corsair Spec-05 Mid Tower

Im satisfied with the build, Any compatibility issues im not seeing? Thanks for your help.

-First timer

CPU isn't compatible with the motherboard (same socket but Z370 only supports 8th/9th gen).

For music production no dedicated GPU is required unless your CPU doesn't have a integrated GPU (iGPU).

Depending on the budget you can go as low as like $500 or higher. As a minimum you'd want something like the AMD 2400G (4C/8T) and at least 16gb (2x8gb) of memory. With AMD Ryzen you'll need fast memory as it performs drastically better with it (3000mhz+).

I suggest you read this article.

I cant believe i overlooked that smh. Thank you i appreciate your input. Ive decided to stick with intel since im not looking for the speed to be massively increased. Ive been stuck with a lousy slow hp laptop so i’ll appreciate even the smallest speed boost. Im mainly looking for stability and strength. Im looking closely at Intel Core i7-8700. Its 8th gen and actually a bit cheaper. Just no overclocking ability which i absolutely wont need. Any problems there?

Nope.

So for example if you went...

8700
Aftermarket cooler (stock is junk)
B360 motherboard (no need for Z series as your not overclocking)
2x8gb @2666 RAM
Crucial MX500gb SSD (a great price to performance pick)
2TB 7200rpm HDD
No graphics card due to the iGPU on the 8700.
You may want a sound card as it should be better then onboard sound.
Any case
Corsair CXM 550W would be plenty and would support a decent mid range card if you ever wanted to add in a GPU for gaming.

...it would be a solid music production system.

WOW you’re a great help. Final build:
i7 8700 cpu
MSI B360 F-Pro mobo
Cooler master 612 2nd version
Corsair Vengeance (2x8) ddr4 2666
Crucial mx500 ssd (as u recommended thank you)
2tb seagate barracuda hdd 256mb cache
Corsair cx 550w psu

And i agree on the sound cards, i will definetly be looking for some. I thank you again
