A little over a week ago my computer died, if you want you can read about that in this thread http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=961944#961944
Long story short my processor is dead and I'm stuck with a socket 478 motherboard.
I came up with two options
Option #1
Asus CT-479 adapter + Pentium M 745 Dothan
Option #2
ASRock mobo with AGP and PCI-E
Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego
Both of these options would cost a little over $300.
The main problem is I'm stuck with a 9800 Pro AGP card which I don't want to upgrade at this time. I also don't want to put one of those terrible Prescott processors in my computer. I can either go with a Pentium M and keep everything I have now or get that other motherboard and be covered when I want to upgrade my video card.
What do you guys think?
