Have recently purchased a new XP Pro computer and would like
someone to let me know whether or not I can use a flight simulater
2000 on it? Can the direct X on the 2000 be ignored?

Should work fine. FS2000 will install it what it needs.
However you will probably be happier with FS2002 as FS2000 was a resource hog.
Or if your machine specs are up for it get FS2004. No comparison!

Unless you have been given a free copy, I would not recommend FS2000 to
anyone! It was a real dog.
Please do not judge our hobby from that edition. Do as Carl suggests and get
hold of FS2004 and see what can really be achieved.

Lloyd - get FS2004 - it is quite cheap as it is not a recent release. The
visual experience is miles better and the features offered make the 2000
version look very ordinary. Since you have a new computer you will get
great performance from FS2004.

Hi John,Quilljar & Carl. Thanks for your help. Will likely go get a
2004 FS. Good pastime during these cold winter days eh?

We antipodeans are not exactly freezing - at around 34deg C these days in
Brisbane, Australia.
Wouldn't mind a few chilly days.

34°C? (that's 93°F) That's only 5°C warmer than Dallas this past
Tuesday... AND IT'S THE MIDDLE OF WINTER HERE!

The real question is why would you want to run FS2000?

Is FS2004 so much better than FS2002?

I have considered the upgrade, but it would mean I can no longer fly PIC767.

Would the upgrade really be worth loosing PIC767?

What is the PIC 767? Surerly most aircraft have been upgraded to FS2004 by
now anyway?
No I would certainly not hold back upgrading to FS2004 just because of one
aircraft. In any case, you can run both 02 and 04 on the same computer.
They install in quite separate folders and run very happily together.

Hi

PIC 767 is the most amazing aircraft addon in my opinion anyway!
Unfortunately the makers have no intention of making a patch for 2004, I
assume it would be just too complicated. It is a very complicated aircraft
and worth every penny and I was just wondering, as I really fly nothing else
since I bought it, if it was Worth giving up for 2004.

Looks very good Greg. If they won't upgrade then you are fine. Mind you
,most of the FS2002 aircraft that I have, fly quite well in FS2004, has
anyone tried this one?
