Hi and welcome to the te@m.

Referring to ur question, the HD is used only for safe the status of the foldig, but not for processing the WU (Work Unit), this are processed in the GPU or CPU or both GPU and CPU, just be sure that u do the correct configuration if u want run the GPU and CPU client at the same time.

certainly something i dont want every day on a dual core laptop (already been running for over a day and got another 1 to 2 days to complete) .....

At least the deadline is longer than normal smp WU and worth more points....


Well i guess in the mean time, i'll fire up 2 other laptops (running smp) before i hit 100 ppd.

Ok since i'm still fairly new to this, I think i've been dumbed off the A3 core =/ and now it looks like it's running an A0 core, which only stressing the cpu to like 20-40%, is this normal to just be assigned new cores, because i did reconfigure my client, because i forgot the most important step, entering the passcode so i wasn't getting the bonus points

Well, Core-a0 is a single core WU not an SMP WU.

Without it, you're just running a unnecessary complex to-setup Uniprocessor client.
