My name was changed a few month ago. But I had thousands of posts and badges that I didn't want to loose.
Since you have just a few posts. I would just create an account with your NEW Pretzel Guy moniker. Log in and make sure it is working and delete your old account.

My PPD vary wildly depending on work units. 762* units on my 460s are about 22000+ PPD. on the 7660 units 17500 PPD and the 8018 12400 PPD. Quite a range in points.

A steady stream of 8900's was earning me 90k with the 2x GTX660's, I don't pick up many 8900's on them now.

Instead I get a mix of 8018's that earn 15-17k ppd per card or 7811's that are around 40k ppd per card, slight differance!!!

The 7950 has a steady stream of 8900's for 90k ppd.

I have turned SMP folding off, not worth the extra heat for 15-20k on a 2600k clocked @4.4ghz!!

As mentioned I don't really trust the f@h calculator either as it has wild jumps in estimates.

All I know is at present this 7950 nets more points with less power and heat than 2 GTX660's, nice turnaround.

I will :)

Well, currently at any rate. There is no Linux Core 15, so in Linux you'll only get Core 17 WUs. Unless of course they completely run out of Core 17 WUs, then you'll get nothing.

Edit: Well, it will get rid of the 8018 (core 15) WUs.

Edit2: And I think your estimate for the 7811 WUs is a bit low - should be closer to 50k for GTX660s, or at least as good as 8900 WUs.

For username change PM Joe :- http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/community/pm/write?to=323958

As for the WU's, that's the 8900's for you! I have one on the 7790 and it's going to take about 12 hours, I don't recall how long they take on the 660's.[/quotemsg]

Thanks MM, I sent Joe a PM regarding the name change. Maybe I won't lose a record of all the posts or badges I've not made 😀

Got more of the durn 8900 WUs, recieved an astonishing 25K credits for about 10 hours crunching. Oh well.
The F@H calculator indicates I should be up to 156K ppd but an hour ago it predicted 56K ppm go figure; but looking at the stats page noticing too many time periods with 0 credits. Mutter Muttter

EXT64- does the HFM work in windows?

HFM works best in Windows. I've used it some in Linux, but it was always a little glitchy. I think there is a newer build though that helps in Linux. What i do though is I have a really low power (AMD E-350) nettop that I run Windows 8 and HFM on and I have it setup to remotely monitor all of my computers. That makes it really easy as I can take one quick glance and make sure everything is running the way it should. And since it is low power I can leave it on 24/7, but since it isn't folding I can use it to surf the web, watch videos, office work, etc. and not disturb anything.

beano, is it possible that you were seeing low GPU usage on your 7950 with a 781x WU and higher on a 8900? I just got my 7970 set back up folding and it pulled a 7811. Performance is still too early to call, however I was seeing only 92-93% GPU utilization and I know I have seen it higher before (probably 8900 or 7662/3). And the 7970 is being driven by a 4770k + PCI-E 3, so nothing should be holding it back. I'll keep an eye out for when I pull an 8900 WU.

What card, OS, and Client Config? I'm pretty sure I have gotten new WU since then on some of my cards (I'll keep an eye on them). Have you tried rebooting the computer too, to make sure it isn't some really strange glitch?

Win 7 pro 64bit ,GTX460, client 7.1.52. Running SMP6 and two GPUs. A pair of 460's.
One GPU is fine the other can not get a work unit.

Great stuff! I've been wanting to know the PPD numbers from a 7850 for some time now.
