Well, wave goodbye to Core 16 for AMD gpu's! :hello:

Our projects which use Core16 have completed and this means that Core16 is reaching its end of life, as the Core17 GPU core has some key features needed in new projects. We do not have an ETA for the last Core16 WU, but it is likely soon, i.e. in a week or two.

One outstanding issue for Core17 is that while it has much greater performance for most AMD GPUs, it has been reported that PPD is slower for 5xxx class AMD GPUs. We have been brainstorming fixes for this issue internally, but we have no solution for improving this unfortunately. We are continuing to discuss this internally to see what we can do.

I'm surprised by the such short notice. Past cores that where near EOL that I recall were given at least 3 or more months heads up before the did become EOL.



Must of been all the new AMD gpu's comming online for the fold after core 17 launched that killed core 16. :lol:
 


I appreciate the offer MM but I dont have a need for it
both my rigs at home are maxed on GPUs and my work rig doesnt have a six pin
I am going to see if the boos will go for a 7750 for my work rig since that is about the strongest card that doesnt need a six pin
 


No worries mate, I'll have to see if I can put up with it until the Maxwell cards are released then.
 
I need help
on my 1100T/660Ti rig F@H keeps crashing with a "FAHcontrol Exe error"
I have tried just running CPU by itself and GPU by itself and either way it crashes.
WUs dont seem to fail
I am thinking of reisntalling V7?
 

That message means the fahcontrol.exe you installed is bad/corrupt.
You need to uninstall the client and delete the download too, if it is still around. Do a fresh download and install again.

I didn't know I was missing! I read the forum almost every evening.
Just haven't had much to say, what with the members kicking folding butt all over the place. Nothing to do but fold and watch us climb!
