Yea beano, that Mozart music is a scam, white noise is where it is at. Also with the computers running, Ruby will stay nice and warm and the gentle vibrations will rock her to sleep.

*Good luck selling it to the wife*

Congratz as well.

You're 22nd on the PPD list, so you're heading for the top 50 in due time. You're producing slightly more points than me (30th on the PPD list), though you won't be catching me without a hardware upgrade. Because the R9 270 I just added is on its first WU, project 13000. Estimated PPD around 40K.

Finally I can do some serious PPD. The SMP/CPU stuff is a bit depressing.

PPD should be a little higher than that - what drivers are you using?

Also, what client version? At least on 7.3.6 FAHControl is getting the TPF wrong.

Might want to grab HFM if you haven't already, that way you can get the true PPD without manual calcs.

Alright. I just went with the latest release driver initially, to minimize the risk of problems while testing for stability and then overclocking. Only a small overclock though; I think most 270s will easily get into the mid-1100s and quite a few seem to break 1200 too. Not much memory headroom though, but then 1500 is still plenty fast - the 7870 memory was at 1200 stock.

Thanks. I found a Youtube video explaining the setup.

It shows my GPU slot as a uniprocessor slot for some reason, but all the other info checks out. 61K PPD from my R9 270 (now on a project 13001 WU) and still 8K from my CPU (barely losing any CPU PPD from the GPU folding, that's nice).

Edit: It's adjusted the PPD upwards a couple times, now saying 72K. :bounce:
Though of course the real PPD will be lower since I also use the system for gaming sometimes, and shut it off at night.

*********
Just using my " its already running 24/7, so might as well give it something to do" box and some spare capacity on a server that I am using as a VM host (Oracle VirtualBox wiht 8 sytems on it)

my always on box is just a c2Quad 9650 with a gt520 and a gt430 shoved in it to help folding .

bring a quad-quad xeon server on to folding next week as I am retiring the unit from an enviroment and it stil works too good to recycle..

Nice! I really like the 7970/280X for folding. Advanced is the best way to go I would say. There should be sufficient core 17 work to keep it fed. There are a bunch of new WU in the beta pipeline, but there are some bugs too and once those bugs are fixed the WU will be heading to advanced and full.

Nice, what version, specs and can you post points and temps please once run for a while.

What fah news do you last remember dogman? I guess a quick roundup of the recent news is:

There is now a fah version on the Google Chrome Native Client: very short WU so any system can complete them quickly and painless to setup on nearly any system.

SMP is still chugging along as usual.

Bigadv is still chugging along, though it is ending early next year.

GPU core 17 has a lot of new WU starting up, though nothing radically different (though some are fairly long).

There is a new PG member dedicated to public relations, and so far she has posted some great info on progress and focus of cancer work thus far (in both easy to understand form and need a bio degree form).

And probably some other stuff I've forgotten :)

The science behind FAH seems to get cooler by the day!

Anyway, what are you guys thinking about the new crazy dual GPU cards that Nvidia and AMD seem to have released out of the blue? (It even went completely under my radar for a while...)

And EXT, have you ever broken 2 million points in a day?

Yep - fairly regularly. I am currently averaging about 2 million PPD. Here are the past few days: http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_summary.php?s=&u=557101

Won't last much longer though. I plan to take the 4P out of the office soon and then shut it down as I can't afford to run and cool it at home during the summer.

The biggest problem I see with the dual GPU cards, provided they have sufficient cooling and power, is that they cost so much more than 2x 780ti or R9 290X.

Thanks guys!

Can't say that I have bben much for the team. Been on a sabatical from THG.

I /may/ be moving sometime this summer. May get a job in the big city. Can't say I will. If I do...there may be hardware change.

Dunno, 90K seems too low for a 280X when my 270 can do 70K. If you're using F@H's PPD, then it's probably somewhere in between; it tends to oscillate as EXT mentions (so 90K-160K would probably mean a true PPD around 125K).
