Another option using the advanced control is to let your GPUs download a WU and then immediately switch them to 'Finish'. That tells the slot to only complete the current work and then stop.

As the majority of work units will complete in 4 or 5 hours on a 970 you can leave for work or go to bed knowing approximately how long the computer is going to be running. The downside is that you have to micromanage your folding to a degree but you won't lose out on bonus points (a large part of your ppd) from constantly stopping the work.

I like this idea. I think this is what I will do. That way I will be able to help out by letting each GPU do one WU every day without the added electricity that comes from folding 24/7.

Edit: I think I actually found a way to automate this process. For whatever reason my PC wakes itself from sleep every morning at around 4:00am. It goes back to sleep 30 minutes later because I have it set to sleep after 30 minutes of inactivity.

I already figured out how to disable the block the folding client puts on sleep mode when using GPU folding last night. I tested it and my computer goes into sleep mode even while folding now and my WUs still completed successfully even with computer sleep breaks during the process.

If I change my power settings to sleep after 5-6 hours instead of 30 minutes I should be able to complete a WU on each GPU every morning when my computer wakes itself from sleep.

I have not gamed since I recently installed my 970 GPU. Prior to that I was running an R7 265 with folding on medium settings. I never turned it off playing Skyrim and never had a problem. Skyrim is probably not a very demanding game though. Since installing the 970 I have my folding settings on high. I will probably have to dial that back when gaming.

It is usually a little high.
Work units get downloaded before the unit you are working on finishes, then it sits and waits until the current one finishes. then you have upload time. Depending on your upload speed this also reduces final credit.
So knock off a little for each of those and you will be 270-300,000 PPD area.
Nice card for folding.

My internet speed is pretty slow most of the time. I live waaaay out and I'm on microwave, which is a bit faster than satellite. How do I find my actual ppd?

Wow, thanks for the link. I still don't understand something; my graphic says my team rank is 56 but on the site link above it says my team rank is 11.

Things were going pretty well for the team before that stats server blip. We were nearly within a hundred million points of Techpowerup, getting over 6 million points on many days. Seems we've slowed down a little bit since, perhaps because of the core 21 WUs being moved to advanced. I noticed a small drop in production, though at least my card was running cool and quiet. Now I've turned on the advanced flag and getting almost exclusively core 21 WUs, a little more PPD but definitely more heat too.

And I passed 30 million. I'll be passing AK419 before you know it. 😀

Anandtech is coming up fast from behind us now, they must have fired up some serious system this winter.

The Core 17 WU's also went bye bye it seems so that may have had an impact on our PPD.

Plus the Bean Man hasn't been Folding, been doing some testing with my cards on a Haswell rig.

Started off same issues as mine, f@h reports cards incorrectly, has bad states and wu's etc etc.

Uninstalled f@h and put 980 in primary with 980ti in secondary slot and so far its running fine.

Hope to get going again next week, need to warm the house up😀

You haven't been folding? How very dare you!
