Do the owners appreciate the effort we are putting forth in name of this site?

Because to bust his balls over a signature related to the folding team is beyond ridiculous.

It means I'm in a reasonably good mood and have been busy doing other things but the rules are not up for negotiation, 400 x 75 or smaller are the parameters.

While benchmarking CPUs for reviews and putting CPU charts together, why isn't there a Folding@Home benchmark? Why no talk of folding, and the folding team?

With all these free parts Tom's gets to review, why are there never any folding contests/giveaways to motivate more people to fold and increase output by getting more people folding and giving out folding hardware. It wouldn't cost Tom's a thing except postage.

i totally agree. this whole folding thing is driven by the fact that we like to compete with each other...team rivalry. instead of appreciating that a folder is getting the team higher ranks he picks on the oversized sig.

its not the good tom's anymore. its the french company "best of media" yet i stay here because i can help people.

i started my own forums because i can be a moderator and i can pick what goes on. and yes i have an f@h team set up, but it has one folder (me)

The bolded part i can answer at least. It used to be in the #1 thread in the cpu section (via sticky). only issue, there where many other sticky threads that was starting to clog up the front of the forums. So, they got all the sticky threads together under 1 post and have that sticked and locked. So in theory, we're still in #1 spot.

Although some times i wished we had our own little sub forums like other teams have. So people wouldn't have to ask the same questions that we answered back 5+ pages ago. Could also help with your wanting of the contest as there would be a central area to give a contest at. Oh well, cant have everything.

BTW, comfortable with my OC running for 48 hours without any errors, so I'm gonna switch to bigadv once this last job finishes.....hopefully I get a bigadv job right away

Yeah, the colours, backgrounds and icon settings are on the setup page although I didn't see the double one.

I've just been trying different numbers where you highlighted but there seems to be no pattern.

I mean 10 is the same as 210 and 950 is the same as 730, anyway thanks I'll keep playin.

Where did you get your Tom's banner from?

Yeah, alot of them are the same or have very minor difference. Mainly what im finding is that there bigger differences when you jump around between 1's, 10's, 100's, ect. (although there still small.)

As for where i got the banner from. Well i do believe i got it from Haserath but i cant remember. You'll need to look many pages back (like end of August to beginning of September area. i was trying to make a banner my self for the team but everybody agreed (and really already new before hand) that i wasn't a very good maker of stuff like that. (Poor mousemonkey, i was hurtting his little eyes due to the blue i chose was some how was nearing the point of green on his screen.)

Ah i remember those months, i could make 1k ppd and could be appering in the top 20 producers and the team was only making like 120k ppd. Now it looks like i need a good quad core cpu or moderate gpu to stay in the top 20 and were up to 250k ppd. :lol: Good times.

Used to but not much of a gaming person right now. Been mostly playing 1 on the Wii and thats SSBB and even then, im not playing on it much.

Nah, they send out FREE samples, and do NOT expect them to be returned. In fact, they not only get free samples but get other compensation to advertise the goods. I have a friend that is an owner of a company that builds custom servers and networks as well as operating a retail store. Even he gets free stuff from vendors, and he isn't out here on the net telling everybody how great it is.

I've received everything from drinks to all expense paid trips for considering more expensive products. That's the way big business works.

I play a bit of CSS and some saurbratten currently. Other than that, not much. The only game that I'm looking foreward to is Portal 2.

Who and how was it decided to have such a small sig limit when compared to other sites?
Some sites are silly, huge banners, game adds, folding sigs ect, I agree there should be a limit, but 400x75!!

Also why do other forums seem to promote folding within the ranks so well with custom sig designers etc.
It would be nice if someone with the design ability could do something like this for the team with a Tom's stamp.

Sorry if this seems obtuse but a decision on the size had to be made and that was the size that was agreed upon.

A signature can be a reflection of a members character, 400x75 is a character assasination.

As not everyone has a highspeed connection large sigs can be a pain as they slow down the loading of pages, the decision may be reviewed at some point in the future but I wouldn't hold my breath on that if I were you.

Calling ALL team members, I need your help and advise.

Its getting close to when I will have to make this difficult decision and I dont know what to do.. 🙁

Poor Haserath is in my sights but I feel bad about passing him, do I -

a) Keep on Folding and pass him, risking upsetting him?
b) Shut the rigs down and give him a chance to increase his output?

Any comments would be helpfull as this effects the whole team, and please...be sensitive.
