EDIT: opps miss read the problem. Thought it was a different issue.

Well.... I got a few theories......

1. Im not sure if the PowerPC clients support the 10.4OSX. So that could be an issue.

2. you may need to reinstall the client.

3. There very very very very little works left for the Clients (it is a dieing client) so you may not be able to connect to anything even if the client is working.

Overall, from what i'm seeing you may want to look at other options for your ibook g4 as F@H been slowly clearing out the PowerPC WU's as time moves forward and the user base been shrinking.

Some other these other option you can do if you want to do them are:

Bionc
WCG (World Community Grid)

WCG is about the closest there is to F@H and from what i hear they have a lot of powerPC type WU's that out there.

Wish i could help more but there not much im able to figure out for you. 🙁

Try putting team 40051 in, that should work. 😀

Had my 2nd bigadv fail @76%, really happy bout that, picked up a 6900 though so not all bad.

Not sure if this is the issue, but F@H can be sensitive to OC. If you like, you can try run StressCPU to make sure.

I kind of wondered about that, I am using a home-brew 3.7ghz OC for my I5-750, I just don't know about pushing to 4.0 with higher voltage for running 24/7/365. While I would be happy with 16 months of that before frying. It should last closer to ten years at my current rate, and eventually be retired to to minimal power serving, or gift computer.

I've dropped it back down to 4ghz and its just done 25hrs on 1.3v, hits about 72C max with the Ven X Black cooler.

I never think that far ahead, although I usually take a lower cooler OC over max with lots of heat.

If it lasts a couple of years I'm happy, especially what I paid for it. 😀

Not yet, been running 6 hrs.

Thing is running the 460 at defaults=10k ppd but knocks 4k off my CPU ppd so actually = 6k.

I'm going to switch my cards back into my old 590SLI Opteron board and run the bigadv without a gpu client.

GPU's will produce 22-28k and the bigadv 22-34k ppd, should do for a while. [:beanoslim:2]

Is it possible to receive single threaded WUs through the SMP client? I finished a 6060 that was using 100% CPU (Intel C2D) and had a 17 min TPF but now I have a 6880 that is using 50% CPU and is running at 4 min TPF. What happened?

Yep, ran for 22hrs ok, just bumped the GPU up to 850mhz, its good for 875mhz.

This hasn't effected the cpu ppd at all which is good, its still 4k down with GPU but no more with the GPU OC.

This makes the GPU ppd 11.5k - 4k lost from bigadv=7.5k, think I'll still switch them.

Just got to finish off my case now. 😀

Yup. Somehow my config was wiped clean. I don't even think I got credit for the last WU I finished :fou: I had it running as a service and I wasn't really paying attention.

Is it possible? Yes.

The SMP2 client was designed to take in Single core Wu's incase there is ever a shortage of them. This is also true with bigadv. Bigadv will go to SMP2, and if there no SMP2 WU's, then it will go down to single core WU's. (It's been a very long time since there been a true shortage of SMP2 Wu's. Although the same cant be said for Bigadv)

To put it simple, yes your client will go to single core WU's to keep it self busy if there no more higher work units.

Although i cant explain your real issue of the Client config just disappearing. :heink:

Speaking of WU's.... I need to restart my client. Was busy with a WU but then my ISP decided to act up, i stop the client to wait out the issues.....

Well, the Bigadv WU are around 100MB or more.

So it will depend on your upload speed and if your doing anything while it's uploading if it is normal or not.

Although to me it sound ok.

Just guessing if i ever did bigadv, on a good day for uploading stuff (my upload speed seams to be around 800 kilobits to 1Megabit) so at theoretical speeds, i should be able to upload a file in about 15 to 20 mins. Although thats only a good day situation. So 20 to 30 mins maybe more likely for me. Thats if of course that the F@H severs are fulling open to take in that WU at full speed. 😉

(Although there are people on the F@H fourms that have reported that it takes them sometime up too 2 hours to send all results on there slow internet connection. )

As for temps, Yes 70-75C 24/7 is just fine for a core i7 920. :)

help please new to folding
gpu folding is running in at like 1140 after like 10 min
but i cant tell if the cpu (smp or something like that) isn't doing anything just says completed 0 out of 2000000 steps
i have dual gtx 480s and a Intel 980x (@4ghz) i would like to put to use... ( nothing but Intel burn test as ever pushed my CPU pasted 50%)
