Do they use the same heat sink and different fan, or is the heatsink larger on the 38 as well?

fop 38 is just a bigger fan.

As lomd_sniper said they're the same. The FOP32 is annodized black but they're the same.

they are the same thing dude....my FOP32-1 (accually maybe the first issue was black?) but mine is unpainted aluminium

By the way, they are not painted, as paint reduces heat transfer. The process is called Anodizing. The anodizing creates a layer of protection on the metal surface as well as below the surface into the porous area of the metal. This is done to prevent oxidation and corrosion of the metal. Other reasons exist as well, such as resistance to chemicals, but more often for protection from oxidation on Aluminum.
