I am trying to load Win95 to a SCSI hard drive. I used the Win95 startup floppy (I lost the installation diskettes) to fdisk and format. When I try to load Windows 95 (an OEM version), I get the following message:

"This version of MS ScanDisk will only work with MS-DOS versions 5.0 and later. Setup found a compressed volume or a disk-cache utility on your computer. Quit Setup and check your compressed volume with your disk compression software or remove the disk-cache utility."

I do not remember compressing anything. I have formatted many times but no dice. Please help me.

Thank you in advance.

Yes I have. I have set the partition as active and as MS-DOS. I formatted the drive as bootable. I really do not know what to do.
