I am having trouble installing windows xp pro for a new computer. I have two WD Caviar SE16 250 GB HDD set up in a RAID 0 array. I set up the BIOS and installed the drivers and everything seemed normal. I partitioned all the disc space as one partition and chose to format using NTFS. But when formatting begins, it takes about 15 minutes to format the first 40% but it has been almost two days now and has only formatted 65%. Is this normal? I tried restarting my computer and redoing the whole process and the same thing happens. Any suggestions?
Thanks

I'd run the diagnostics from WD on the drives to verify their integrity. I'd also check the memory. In my mind those are the potential culprits in your problem.

Usually takes about 45 minutes to format a 160GB drive (full format). I have no idea how long a 500GB RAID array would take... though almost 2 days does seem excessive. Try a quick format and see what happens.
