When trying to start FS9, error message says "FS cannot run
because the verison of Microsoft DirecX installed on your
computer is incompatible. Please reinstall DirectX 9.0 by
running FS Setup, or download the current verison from
www.microsoft.com/direcx." Did all the above without
success. Downloaded DirectX 9.0b. Nada. Reinstalled FS9. Zip.

I suspect a DirectX issue, given DxDiag.exe gives error
message "The procedure entry point DdEntry1 could not be
located in the dynamic link library GDI32.dll." Furhter
error message given is "The procedure entry point
GetRawInputDeviceInfoW could not be located in dynamic link
library USER32.dll."

Any suggestions are welcome. :)

Looks like I finally found a solution to manually uninstall
directx. It seems to work as FS9 now plays! See this link

Gosh, just when I was at wits end, the French came through.
Who wudda thunk?

Merci mes amis!
