Fx-8150 issues

I upgraded recently from a Phenom II x4 970 that i oc'ed to 4.0 to a Fx-8150 despite all the questionable reviews i have seen on the chip. I have been running this new chip for about a week now and i have noticed a few odd things. It seems like gaming in battlefield 3, arkham city, and crysis 2 have roughly the same average frame but from time to time the frames drop to really low for just a split second like 10 or less and i haven't switched gpu and never had that issue with my phenom ii. I reinstalled the os and switched drivers and still the same. Benchmarking the chip shows a good cpu score increase over the phenom ii in all tests but i have noticed that i see a decline in gpu score vs the old p2. Any ideas or advice with this?

Have you updated the BIOS to the latest?

Yes I did. I used gigabyte utility to update it and then I went to the website to confirm it was the newest one.
