Question Games run at 4k resolution even though I have a Gigabyte G24F 1080p Monitor ?

Whenever I open a newly installed game, it sets it to 3840x2160 as default. In other games like Apex or Horizon Zero Dawn, an easy fix is to just set it back to 1080p and I get my normal FPS in-game back but in the case for Valorant, my FPS dropped significantly (150-200fps to 40-90fps) even at 1080p. Note that I do not cap my FPS and all my settings are at low settings. With the additional resolution options available, I am speculating that Valorant is reading 3840x2160 as my native resolution thus decreasing my FPS.

~~~Things I've done so far but didn't solve my problem;

• Fresh reinstall of GPU drivers using DDU
• Done some cleaning, removed my GPU (gigabyte tri fan OC gtx 1660 super) and installed it back.
• Switched my DP to HDMI
• Turning off Image Scaling (I assume this is the culprit for giving me additional resolution options but turning it off again does not fix my problem)
• DSR was never touched and is set at OFF
• Nvidia Control panel ~ Desktop Size and Position are at Aspect Ratio, Perform Scaling on: Display, Reso: 1080p, Refresh Rate: 165hz, Native reso: 1080p

• CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 + Deepcool Gammax GT (A-RGB)
• MOBO: ASRock B450 Steel Legend (ATX)
• RAM: 16gb (T-Force Delta RGB (White) 16gb 3000mhz (8x2))
• GPU: Gigabyte OC GTX 1660 super (tri-fan)
• Storage: 2tb Kingston SNVS2000G
• PSU: RAIDMAX Thunder RGB 735W

Never have i seen that before. I know those Ultra HD, HD SD resolutions is for TVs then you have PC set of resolutions below. At least it shows 1080p as true native resolution there which it should be. Why TV resolutions also appear in game i have no idea lol.

Tv resolutions should only really appear if a TV is connected.

I have no clue to why this has occurred. I suspect that it has something to do with the image scaling option on NvidiaCP. I assume the image scaling is bugging out and for some reason, still scales my games at 4k even when set to OFF. this is all just assumptions though plus, I do not use a TV as a monitor. You can see in valorant, the monitor menu is Monitor: GBT2403 (3840x2160 16:9). I forgot to mention that I use a second monitor (DELD05D (1024x1280 5:4))

Might not make any difference but try Custom Resolution Utility. Hopefully it can overrule this funky business.

This is what I did:

1. Unplugged my second monitor
2. Downloaded CRU (Custom Resolution Utility)
3. I head to the Extension Block and double clicked it. In Data Block, there is TV resolution. I clicked on it and deleted it.
4. Inside the CRU folder, there is a Restart64.exe> I ran it and it fixed my issue.

No more additional resolutions showing up on my NvidiaCP

and when I ran Valorant, 3840x2160 is also gone. Monitor option is back to Monitor: GBT2403 (1920x1080 16:9). In-game FPS of valorant is back to normal as well! Thank you!
