Gaming improvment with I7-2600k

Hi,
I was thinking of upgrading.

My curent specs:
I7-950 no OC
Asus p6x58d-e
Hd 6970
12gb of kingston ram
850w corsair psu

New specs:
I7-2600k
p8z68-v pro
hd6970
16gb of g.skill
850w corsair psu

I was going to "auto"(one of the features on the board) OC the i7-2600k. Would i see any Frames per second improvent in games like bf3 or crysis 2 and stuff on ultra res?

If you do, just go with the 2500K. Most games wont utilize the SMT on the 2600K.

According to Anandtech, you will in some games not in all. BF3 probably not as it is more GPU bound. Crysis 2, probably.

I can tell you my 2500K woke my HD5870 up and with that HD6950, if you unlock it to a HD6970 that wouldn't hurt either.

Also if you do go for it, get the Corsair Vengance RAM. Its XMP DDR3 1600 running at 1.5v.
