And since there is so little competition in the video hardware market, instead of lowering the price of their Quadro hardware, they raised the price of their Titan hardware. Sigh. I hope AMD brings their A-game in the next couple of years.
Some professionals, you mean. For certain types of pro task, cards like this are not remotely suitable,
because in many cases having ECC RAM is absolutely essential, eg. accelerating financial transactions.
I agree with you about the pricing, but it's not the Quadros that pro users want to get, even though they
are indeed costly, rather it's the Tesla cards that are in demand but out of reach for many. Titan is an
entry Tesla, but it has too many features missing to be suitable for every pro task. Depends on what one
is doing. It can be ok for development work, but often not viable in a production environment.
