Hello , I am new here .
The problem I am having with this joystick https://games.rs/media/catalog/prod...136e95/G/a/Gamepad_Gambird__525bbfcdf2a69.jpg is this , when i look at the gamepad calibration on windows 10 both analog sticks have deadzones in 4 direction up down left and right.
Firstly when i move my analog stick half the way upward the little plus already reaches the top of the box , then as i start rotating the analog stick it doesent recognize my movement from left to right for a few dagrees then moves in a small window almost like a dpad but it is not instant it does travel from up to right and up but it has this deadzone that doesent let it move for a few dagrees when i am in either of these four directions : up down left and right.
I dont want to forget to mention that the little plus in the box doesent move in a circle or even something close to a circle it just move in a square to the limit of the box.
I am talking about this box.

Thank you in advance to anyone who decides to waste his bit of time for me.
By the way i am not really good with making those compact links like some people know neither am i good with forum controls and what not so yeah sorry
(i didnt wrote this but i have the completely same problem)

Have you downloaded the Gamepad Gambird drivers from the manufacturer's website?

The drivers need to be downloaded, installed and calibrated.

In the Left Axis box and the Right Axis box what values for X, Y, Z, and Rz what values do you see if you move the "+" to the lower left corner of each box?

And likewise for the other three corners in each box.

For example in the Left Axis box do you see X = 0, Y= 0? Then in the Right Axis box do you see Z= 0 and Rz = 0?

Drivers are installed and controller calibrated.
It says X = 0 Y= 255 Z=255 Rz= 0 if i move to the lower left corner
X=0 Y=0 Z=0 Rz= 0 if i move to the upper left corner
X=255 Y=0 Z=0 Rz=255 if i move to the upper right corner
X=255 Y=255 Z=255 Rz=255 if i move to the lower right corner

Try recalibrating the gamepad.

Doublecheck that you downloaded the correct drivers for a gamepad, not a joystick.

Here is the calibration link I found for your Gembird gamepad:

http://gembird.com/Repository/7142/JPD-ST04W_manual_A693EBB3-86D7-40A5-B184-005F92DDDEC5.pdf

Verify that I did find the applicable calibration procedure.

And once calibrated be sure that you Save or Apply the calibration.

Regarding Windows 10: this link may be helpful as a resource to compare Gembird's calibration procedure with Windows' calibration procedure.

Calibrated but still same.
when i move my analog stick half the way upward the little plus already reaches the top of the box
Aiming with this thing is like defusing a bomb.

When you move the sticks around do you ever see any negative numbers?

Are you able to change the values shown clicking the "Set" button?

Try a gamepad/joystick tester such as provided by the following links:

https://keysticks.net/download.aspx

https://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Benchmarks/Game-Controller-Tester.shtml

Not endorsing either tester (or any other for that matter.)

However a tester may provide more information and guidance.

Are you able to borrow another make and model gamepad to try and to test?

  1. No,
  2. I installed them but I they don't change anything, just showing the buttons etc.
  3. I got another gamepad from my friend, he said it works well in soccer games, i tried it but it has the same issue. (guess i need to get something more expensive)
