Hi,

I'm completly new to overclocking. I have a DELL C521 with Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5000+ 2.60 GHz
CPUZ reports: Socket AM2 940, 90nm, Core VID: 1.1 V
Dell motherboard with Nvidia GeForce 6150 chipset.

I can use the MSI utility to overclock my 8600GT graphics card ok.

Are there any such utilities to increase the upper limit on the CPU clock speed.

I've downloaded a bunch of utilities for monitoring: CoreTemp, CPUZ, HWMonitor, prime95, etc.

...but how do you actually overclock in the first place ? Bios / Dip switches / Utility ?

Any help is appreciated.

thanks

sorry. you can not overclock that dell.

Thanks for responses, I've tried playing with AMD overdrive but it won't let me increase the multiplier bigger then x13, which is what it's already on.

I don't seem to be able edit anything else. I have gone into the preferences and verified that all the 'edit' colume is set to true.

Of course Overdrive won't let you change your multi past 13, its not unlocked. You want to up the FSB.

But I probably shouldn't say much more, it really needs to be done from the BIOS which is not possible with a dell.
