Damn... Let's see... In BC2 the 480 is like 8% faster overall res and high filters (don't remember details xP). In Dirt2 is like 40-50% in DX9 mode and in DX11 they get into the 10% diff ballpark. Crysis is like BC2, 6%ish diff across the board and in Farcry2 it's like 10-20% ish.

The GTX480 is faster, no doubt, and in simple sight they have a very polished driver at launch. Good product indeed IMO, but it lacks power for DX11 (maybe drivers, who knows) and I/we need more tests to have a final opinion on its performance.

btw they used the old 10.2 Catalysts not the new 10.3 why would they do that wdf ?

And like I said, I want to see more DX11 benchies. It's very impressive the performance lead in DX9c, but it falls short in DX10 and DX11.

it would have required them to go back to the drawing board to redo the architecture

as it stands it looks like the full card (all 512 sp) will take a little longer to get out there

also i'm seeing in other places that france/europe is only getting 400 units for launch time

can anyone confirm?

Hey I was just reading the Hexus.net review and suddenly got booted. Did they pull the article? From what i saw it wasnt a big improvement over the 5870. Glad I bought 2 5870's a few months ago rather than wait for this thing. the 480 is less efficient, runs hotter, not much more power and 100 dollars more expensive. I'm thinking a lot of people are gonna be pissed they waited for this card.
