[SOLVED] Ghost ethernet connection??

Hello.

Everytime I connect to a Wireless network, I always get a "ghost" ethernet connection appearing, even though I have no ethernet cable pluged in. It even happens if I disable my ethernet adapter and leave only the wireless one on. It only goes away when I disconnect from any Wireless connection.
I've tried deleting all my wireless connections from memory and I deleted all the network profiles from Regedit (wireless and ethernet) but it shows up as soon as I connect to a Wireless connection. What is happening?

RAM: 4GB

Your computer is trying to show you everything that is available thru the air. If not it may be someone that is or did try to connect to you and the bug is still trying to find you. When I see too many of these oddities it is time for me to format them all away.

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

What network adapters do you have installed?

Run "ipconfig /all" (without quotes) via the Command Prompt and post the results.

Also run "arp /a" and post the results.

Are you in an environment with many surrounding wireless networks and wired/wireless networked devices?

Are you in an environment with many surrounding wireless networks and wired/wireless networked devices?

I have only my home network (main router, 1 router as AP and 2 wireless extenders) all with different SSID, so 4 total networks. No networked devices and some wireless devices (mostly laptops and smartphones).
I must say this also happens in another household I live in, with another network. Actually, now that I look back, I think this started happening when I connected this laptop with an ethernet cable to a router, to access the router configuration page.

Your main router (providing DHCP IP addresses) is 192.168.8.1.

That router is the only device that should have DHCP enabled. The second router (AP) should have DHCP disabled.

The ASUS-PC is using wireless connectivity and was (at the time that "ipconfig /all" was run) being provided the DHCP IP address of 192.168.8.111 - that IP can change.

Noted though that your original post identified a laptop (ASUS A53S laptop MB model: K53SV ) versus a PC. Is the laptop's name actually ASUS-PC?

Verify that, on the laptop, only the wireless network adapter is enabled as it is being connected wireless. (Network connectivity should be either wired or wireless. Not both wireless and wired at the same time.

Make and model main router? Make and model AP router?

Are you using a LAN to LAN port Ethernet connection between the main router and AP?

Have you created any static IP addresses within your network? If so, what devices and what IP did you assign? Static IP addresses should be outside of the DHCP IP address range allowed to the main router. And the Static IP addressed for the applicable device via the device's MAC.
