Question GPU/Display problems

I have a GTX 1660 Ti and BenQ XL2411 monitor, but it doesnt allow me to change Hz from 60 to 144. Also i noticed that when i go to "Advanced display settings" and press "Display adapter properties for Display 1" and then press "List all mods" i don't have a option to choose 1920x1080 144hz, i only have the option to choose 60hz (i added a picture). If i scroll down then i can choose 120 hz but on 800x600 resolution. This happened when i bought a new GPU, i had a RX480 before and i was able to play 1920x1080 144hz with it perfectly.
If anyone knows how to solve this problem i would really appreciate your help.

144Hz mode is available using DP or DVI-D.
It is not available using HDMI.

Use DP instead.

Im actually using DVI cable with DVI to DP adapter, that might be the problem but my friend said it should work
