Question GPU Fans 100% and black screen

Hello guys,half an a year back i had a same issue with an rtx 2080 super,sold the system except psu and drives and got an 4070 super



4 months after,same issue,suddenly while on desktop(not in games) black screen and gpu fans 100%,could this be a coincidence?could this be a defective gpu?its in the warranty i could send this back but what if its a problem with the psu?



hint i got the 2080 super tested and they told me it was actually defective and had a problem with the voltage that could not be fixed!thnx

We have no clue what any of the parts in your system is, apart from the GPU series.

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:

include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

more likely a crap power supply possibly damaging components.

4070 super eagle
32gb 6000mhz trident z ram

psu: corsair tx 750 gold (4-5 years old)

the only change i recently made was put a back side argb fan (exhaust fan)

that is definitely one of their lower tier models.
and at that age i wouldn't put much faith in it, if any.

i would imagine a higher quality unit would solve the issue(s) you're currently facing,
but even if it didn't i wouldn't want to risk my components using this one any longer.
