Hello everyone.
I have a pretty weird issue with my brand new build :
My GPU is not detected by the computer until I do a clear CMOS. It means that when I do a clear CMOS, the computer starts perfectly fine, performances are insane : its great.
But as soon as I shut it down, next boot: no video.

The build :
GIGABYTE B650 EAGLE AX
RYZEN 7 7800X3D
NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti
2x16 GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB 6000MHZ
SEASONIC FOCUS 850 GOLD
1TB WD SSD

What I already tried :

  • Trying another PCI port (it works on every boot but i got microfreezes, so its not a viable option)
  • Flash BIOS (latest F3)
  • Update all drivers
  • Windows update
  • Windows reinstall
  • Trying another GPU (1650 : works fine)
  • Trying my 4070ti in another PC : works fine

I have no clue :/
thanks you guys so much if you take the time to help me !

Clearing CMOS means that the the system is using default settings within which the GPU functions.

During/while the system is being used something gets changed that effectively "stays" in the configuration settings and causes video/GPU to fail until cleared again.

My thought is that some app or utility is being launched at start up or perhaps later triggered by something else that happens while the computer is being used.

I would not be surprised if, instead of clearing CMOS, there is some other configuration change that could be made with the same effect.

Take a close look in Task Manager > Startup and also inTask Scheduler.

What you are looking for is any unexpected, unexplained, or unknown process being launched to do who knows what....

How do you normally shutdown the computer?

This motherboard?

Go to physically numbered Page 30 to ensure that you are following the correct procedure to clear CMOS.

When making BIOS changes be sure that the changes are being permanently saved.

From the link:

"After system restart, go to BIOS Setup to load factory defaults (select Load Optimized Defaults) or manually configure the BIOS settings (please navigate to the "BIOS Setup" page of GIGABYTE's website for more information)."

Thanks for your help !
Yes, this mobo.
I shutdown the computer the normal way, Start menu => shutdown
I'll try out this as soon as i get back to my home and keep you updated.
