So im having an issue with my new msi b75a g43 motherboard , everytime I connect my gtx 1060 even if it isn't connected to my monitor my pc will post to a black screen with "b2" in the bottom right corner , ive tried updating my bios but everytime I try it , it says theres no bios file on my usb , it works fine with the onboard graphics so I know its not my cpu causing this

When you install the GPU you need to connect the monitor to the GPU, not the motherboard. Using onboard graphics, go into the BIOS and make sure your primary display adapter(or a similar setting) is set to PCIe, and not to integrated/onboard.

I don't see a setting like this in the bios , I have connected my gpu with the dvi cable to my monitor that's what I was doing before and the problem occurs even if I simply have it connected to the pcie port , im thinking this is maybe an issue with the bios

Have you tried resetting the BIOS settings to default? In most cases the default setting is PCIe, so if you can't find the setting, restoring to defaults might do the trick.

If that doesn't work either, try using a different USB for flashing the BIOS.

The folder I downloaded from msi contained 3 files one exe one file with a random extension (.aa0) and one text file I formatted my usb and even tried a different one still doesn't read them , I also believe I have made some sort of "progress" after resetting the bios I get a different error code (A2) and im able to get into the bios but the bios is distorted and I cant do anything , ive heard that this motherboard needs a bios update as older bios versions have compatability issues with newer gpus

These codes also briefly flash even with the onboard graphics but they go away and im able to properly boot and get into the bios , theres no splash screen with a logo either (not sure if theres supposed to be) this all leads me to believe that the bios is corrupted in some way

I fixed it!
What I ended up having to do is manually flashing a new bios onto the board , I was scared that I was going to brick my board at first but I tried it anyway and after updating everything seems to be working great.
Thanks for all the help!
