[SOLVED] GPU PCI-E does not work.

I have an Asus P8P67 LE motherboard that I bought recently on ebay: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8P67_LE/

I have been using a GTX 660ti, on another pc for a long time and it has been fine, however, when installing it in the blue PCI E16X BLUE slot I get a long and 3 short beeps (VGA fault). When I put it in the lower express pci-e slot it works fine, but it works at 4X

the mother only sounds with 1 long beep and 3 short beep

So, this is what I did so far.

  1. I cleaned the mobo card slots, a remote possibility, but whatever, it didn't help.
  2. I was in legacy, now I am in UEFI in the boot menu and nothing changed.
  3. I tried to play with the speed of the PCI-E slots, setting it to Auto, X4, X2, did nothing.
  4. The BIOS I am using is the last available BIOS, 3801, so there are no updates for that.
  5. Several proven certified sources. Same problem.
Important note: When I received the card I saw that there was a small bent pin in the processor, I accommodated it and it turned on well.

Data: I only have to try another video card in the blue port and see if there is a compatibility problem, which would be very strange. What do you think about this?

Solution
After investigating a little, I know that the performance drop is not noticeable. But if I wanted to update my video card, I think I will have problems. Because it could work in the port at 4x but with another card I assume that it would not have the full performance.

The last test I have left is, try another card in the blue port and check if the problem is compatibility.

You could probably use up to a GTX 970/1060/1650 Super or 580/5500XT as the maximum GPU when you start to have noticeable performance loss on 4x PCIE 2.0.

Sounds like you figured out why the board was for sale. Faulty PCI-Ex16 slot. Test it with another card, but that would be my guess (assuming you have the necessary power connections?).

I really find it hard to believe that someone sells it with that defect without saying it knowing that I can return it or claim the money, but well everything is possible. I have read from many people who have this problem with this card on the web, the GPU fan rotates when it is in the blue slot.

Assuming you can't fix the issue if the motherboard has bent or broken pins in the CPU socket, 4x PCIE 2.0 has more than enough bandwidth capability for a GTX 660TI. You might lose at most 5fps, but you are unlikely to notice it. It's might only be a problem if you need to use another PCIE device.

Yes.
Various pins have several different functions. Some are responsible for memory controller connecting to ram. Some are responsible for cpu pcie controller connecting to pcie slot. Depending on which pins are bent, you may have different devices malfunctioning.
I checked again and they are all in order.
