Question Gpu Runs at 40%

my specs:
Gtx 1080 ftw
ryzen 5 1600x
16gb 2666(oc to 3000)
650 corsair bronze psu
arctic freezer 33
SSD 240gb
free sync 144 msi monitor
okay so
dont judge me please. I play only a few games very competitively. I stopped playing csgo so rn I am really trying hard in Fortnite. The issue is when there are a lot of people around (in end zones if you have played it you know what I am talking about) and my fps drops to 60-100 and it feels really laggy and it feels like I have tons of input lag. makes it unplayable. I was monitoring and both my cpu and gpu run at about 30-50% (gpu 30-40%). How can I make my gpu run at at least 70%
The resolution I play on is 1440x1080 (4:3) can anyone help me? I set everything on Performance in Nvidia CP.

That could be the culprit, IMO. On that screen RES, most of the games, if not all, are going to be CPU-bound....Increase the resolution/DSR, if you want the GPU to work harder. Just my guess.

Also monitor cpu cores/threads. Total cpu usage is fairly meaningless, it only take 1 core at 100% to limit performance.

Your cpu has 6 cores and 12 threads, you need to monitor these instead of total cpu usage. Let’s say the game only used 1 thread at 100% and the other 11 threads were at 0%, this would be reported as 8% total cpu usage even though the game was limited by that 1 thread.

You cant. Modernt titles dont use many threads. Change your monitoring took to show individual thread usage.

You can’t, that is for the game developers. Some newer games can use up to 8 threads from what I have seen but most are less. Older games may only use 1 or 2 threads.
