Ok take your pic!! I have a ASUS A7N8X Deluxe motherboard version 2, with the nForce chipset from Nvidia voted best motherboard of 2003 by Tom's Hardware guide.
I would get the GeForce card anyways.

Looks like you have a nice system there but your 2700+ wont even run in a A7N8X Deluxe vers2 with the nvidia chip set.
That's why I went to the new board I wanted that Nvidia chip set Tom's felt so highly of and I wanted that ASUS board with the Nvidia chip set so it would fit hand and glove into my new Geforce Nvidia graphics card.

This is the third place I have seen this exact same text...get rid of it.

You want some real numbers?? Look at FPS comparisions in DX9 or just when AA/AF is turned on (or heck, even both!), then come back and tell us which is better! Don't get me wrong, I'd take the 5950U, but I'd rather have the 9800XT ANY DAY.

Those numbers on the 5950U are large, but when it comes to real-world performance, the 5950U doesn't keep up (especially in DX9 or with AA/AF enabled).

Damn Rambus.

His 2700+ will run in the A7N8X-E Deluxe V.2, actually. Oh yeah, matching chipsets with GPU cards means nothing. Why you got the 5900 is beyond me...must have been for a great price.

Damn Rambus.

nVidia did not send you the card for free!! They don't even make their own cards!

5900nu is fine for now, continuous upgrading only leads to disappointment (IMO). R420 is 2x the performance of the 9700Pro while R423 is 2x the performance of the 9800Pro (supposed figures), which are you getting (they will have a staggered [two months or greater] release it seems)?? New cards from ATi or nVidia won't be around until March at the soonest anyway.

That new 5950, would you buy that or have that also be free from 'nVidia'? It certainly isn't worth 400+ USD to minutely upgrade to something that isn't even #1.

Damn Rambus.

Your reaction should be the opposite. ATI managed to make a much better card using a lot less resources.

Tell me, when you buy a car do you only look at the number of cylindres? A lot of cars in the 1960's had eight/twelve. Does that mean that they rode faster? NO! A modern 'little' 6V sports car with turbochargers would leave any of those old monsters in the dust.

Truly, ignorance hath no bounds.
