Same problem....
computer specs are as follows

*compaq presario sr1030il pc
*intel 845g motherboard
*intel p4 processor 2.66ghz
*pci slot with ddr1 type

I dont want suggestions like...i should replace the pc

Well, I searched the model of your current PC and it looks like it was released around early 2004. I'd say that's quite outdated and finding components for this old PC will seem virtually impossible(if you can find parts this old.)

I'd start saving money and start looking for a newer PC.
