Still having probs with my computer (crashing and rebooting during
gameplay) I'm wondering if it could be the card driver maybe not
compatible with something? I have a Radeon 9550 graphics card and a
ECS661fx-m motherboard my radeon driver is the catalyst 5.8 a long shot
I know as all the driver's iv'e had installed made no differance. I
tried the driver verifier and that just left a mess, as soon as I
started it the comp went into reboot opened the desktop and then went
into reboot over and over again(that was in safe mode) the only way to
stop it was to wipe the hard drive and reinstall windows xp 😡I got
so fed up with it that i'm waitng for my new motherboard a Abit a-17
guru 865pe in the hopes that might work if not its a new graphics card
and it wont be a Radeon. At the moment she crashes or reboots every 1
to 2 mins when playing games tried all the normal things like
anti-virus, disk clean up, de-frag i've even removed the sound card in
case but that didn't help this has become a battle of the brains will I
solve it and win or will the computer so far my bet is on the computer.

Not a whole lot to go on, but ensure your PSU is adequate (or preferably
more than adequate)... and that you remember to install the motherboard
chipset drivers.

Try to keep the PCI slot next to the AGP slot free. Soundcard's best
position is in the slot furthest away from the soundcard.

And that you have the latest BIOS for the motherboard.

To determine what driver (it may be another issue interferring with your
driver) is causing the problem I need you to enable driver verifier.
Steps:
1) Windows Key + R
2) Type in 'verifier' and hit enter
3) Make sure 'Create Standard Setting' is selected and hit next
4) Click on 'Select all drivers installed on this computer' and hit Finish
5) Reboot

There is a possibility that your computer will crash on reboot. If this
occurs hit F8 when rebooting just before the windows logo screen and select
the safe mode boot option. Follow the same steps above but on step 4 choose
'Select driver names from a list'; hit next; check the box next to any
driver where the provider is not Microsoft; hit Finish; reboot.

This will slow the performance of you computer a little while enabled but
will hopefully catch the driver causing corruption. Next time you crash
the blue screen will hopefully say something like
"DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION". If this occurs please send the
corresponding minidump (by default it is at c:\windows\Minidump ) my way.
If you have any questions or I didn't explain something well enough don't
hesitate to e-mail me (remove "online") back. Good Luck,
