My pc is only 2 years old, I have an MSI K8N Neo4 and a radeon x800gt. Games (specifically BF2 & COD2) that ran fine previously are now having graphical errors like missing textures or just crashing. I bought some compressed air and cleaned out my pc, it was pretty dusty. But then my northbridge fan started making some high pitched whines. I played with it, cleaned it out more and it went away, but I'm still having the graphical problems. I lowered the graphics on both games and they run longer, but still crash occasionally.
I assumed this was a graphics card problem, but I ran a graphics card stability/benchmark and it was fine. So is this a problem with my mobo? How can I test that?
My mobo is still under parts warranty, but since I only paid $80 and I could get a new one for $65 it doesn't seem worth it to try and repair the board. So what do I do? Is there anyway to diagnose my mobo?
Any suggestions?
