[SOLVED] Gt 1030 in a Hp 8000 elite sff

Will a gt 1030 work in a Hp 8000 elite sff?

My specs

cpu - intel core 2 quad q9505
ram - 8gb 1333mhz ddr3
windows 10

I did some research and I don't know with my motherboard would even support a gt 1030
but I do know it supports a gt 730.

my Bois version 786g7 v01.02

If it supports a GT 730 then it should support a GT 1030, as far as power is concerned. You will need to verify actual clearance based on your case. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be compatible but it is going to be completely dependent on WHICH GT 1030 you go with according to clearance/length.

Also, it might matter if your GT 730 is a half height card or not. If it is, then you will need a half height GT 1030 as well.

the low profile version, I heard that new GPUs won't work on old OEMs so I was just concerned the gt 1030 wont work at all.

Yes, in some cases that's true. I see evidence however that the GT 1030 low profile cards work in the HP 8100, 8200, 8300 systems, so I'd say the chances are good, but yes, it is a chance you will have to take. I don't think anybody here is going to be able to give you a definite "yes, it works in that exact machine" unless you get very lucky. It's a pretty old system and while there are some running around here with those old C2 systems that still work, I don't know that they've spent the money on that type of card for one.
